Ultra-cold at NUS

Group Leader

Dr. Murray Barrett joined NUS in October 2006.  His research interests are broadly based in the field of ultra-cold atoms with a particular interest in the application of laser cooling and manipulation techniques to the field of quantum information processing.  Research highlights include the first all-optical production of a BEC, and the first demonstration of teleportation using atomic qubits.  More recently his interests have turned to neutral atoms and is currently investigating the use of micro-fabricated electronics as a means to trap and manipulate single neutral atoms and the potential application of this research to quantum information processing.
